With offices in Central London and the South East we are able to offer our services to a diverse range of clients across London and the Home Counties.  We currently manage capital expenditure projects on a portfolio of properties with a combined asset value in excess of £4bn.   Our mantra of “Build Trust, Develop Relationships, Make a Difference” is reflected in the way that we deliver our services. Being technically expert in our fields of service is not enough.   What sets us apart is our approach to finding new and better ways to do business.   Our latest innovation “The Triple S” is one example of how we are continually looking at ways to nurture and develop relationships with clients, lessees, property managers and landlords.   Our team ethos of striving for continual improvement (individually and collectively) is reflected in the approach to development of all staff via in house and external training and the adoption of our structured training programme. Personal management and technical knowledge are key areas where training is provided to ensure a constant upward learning curve.   We regularly contribute to industry publications and hold continuing professional development (CPD) sessions for clients and colleagues alike and produce informative guidance documents on a range of subjects from asbestos removal, fire regulations compliance and flood reinstatement to the use of the latest eco-friendly innovations and how best to manage licences to alter applications.   Services provided include:

Managing Director Shaun Harris provides the strategic and management direction for the firm, supported by senior administrative, financial and technical members of staff. The surveying resource is split across three surveying teams, each headed up by a senior surveyor. With an in-house surveying resource of 10 surveyors plus our approved panel of mechanical services engineers, electrical services engineers and structural engineers, Harris Associates is able to provide a one stop shop where required.   Harris Associates also has an in-house CAD service which supports both the surveying and design functions. The usual 21st century applications, such as the use of smart phones, mobile technology, e-tendering and automatic voice activated site dictation software, all contribute to an efficient use of time for the benefit of all parties.   All surveying staff hold membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.   Clients include:   We work for 100’s of RTM’s, Landlords and Freeholders and are fortunate enough to work alongside some of the leading property management companies in the sector as well as being engaged directly by major landlords such as Grainger, William Pears Group, Dorrington and Estates & Management. Our website includes a Project Portfolio section which illustrates the range of build types that we are involved with. In the majority of cases we continue to provide our range of services as we have done for a number of years.   Key Individuals:   Shaun Harris, Managing Director   Profile: With over 27 years experience in the industry Shaun has worked within the residential, commercial, public and private sectors providing all aspects of building surveying and project management services. Areas of expertise include pre-acquisition advice, due diligence, landlord and tenant advice including drafting licence to alter guidance and acting as landlord surveyor in the context of licences to alter.   He has extensive experience of specifying and managing large and complex refurbishment projects including exterior renovation, window replacement contracts and internal common parts refurbishments.   Shaun also provides bespoke advice and project management services in situations where projects or contracts have become distressed and regularly acts as expert witness.   What others say about them:   Thanks for this, it is great to see a surveying firm trying to innovate and align themselves as a partner with companies like ourselves. This initiative will probably work well at Artillery Mansions and my team will get an opportunity to work with you more moving forwards in the large and complex part of our business.   Ryan Collier, Regional Manager, FirstPort Bespoke Services   I am copying this note to all the directors as I am sure they will be keen to know that we have reached this milestone. And in particular I would like to thank you and Shaun for all your hard work (in the face of a few problems like UKPN and antique gas pipes) in delivering common parts that we can enjoy and take pride in!   Just to echo Ian’s remarks and thank you on behalf of the SFL Board, and indeed all Widley Road leaseholders and residents who are now benefiting from the refurbishment. It’s been worth waiting for!   Ian Mashiter & Ann McKay, Directors, Southwold & Cleveland Mansions   I am delighted to say that, thanks to Harris Associates, SMML has been able to ensure that all phases of the renovation programme have been carried out according to schedule and within the agreed budgets, and that their work is very greatly appreciated by our leaseholders.   Of particular importance has been Harris Associates’ excellent project management for us during a period of extensive and potentially disruptive work on the estate, with the presence of many contractor and sub-contractor personnel, materials, vehicles and scaffolding, all of which has required very skillful handling and co-ordination.   Tom Carney, Chairman, St Marys Mansion Limited
