Jane Canham
Storrar Cowdry, a well known Chester based firm has joined together with Jane Canham a specialist residential property litigator based in London to enhance its offering to its clients in the residential property arena.
Jane has over 13 years experience in the residential property sector and now specialises almost exclusively in residential leasehold property matters. Much of her practice involves advising lessees in relation to;
· Lease Extensions
· Collective enfranchisement
· Right to Manage
· Right of First Refusal
· Appointment of a Manager
· Purchase of Freehold Houses ( 1967 Act applications)
She has specific experience with contentious enfranchisement matters and the more unusual aspects including missing or deceased landlords.
Jane works with Jane Meakin who is based in the Chester office; Jane Meakin is also experienced in enfranchisement , she spent many years working in London before moving to Walker Smith Way as Head of Residential Property and more recently to Storrar Cowdry. Jane has undertaken numerous lease extensions and collective enfranchisements and also has particular experience in relation to the purchase of leasehold houses on the Grosvenor estate in the North West.
The other part of Jane Canham’s practice involves advising both landlords and lessees in relation to service charge disputes, major works and applications to the First Tier Tribunal for a determination as to reasonableness of service charges and dispensation from consultation.
On the non contentious side Jane advises managing agents on the consultation procedures, the content of notices and relevant obligations and responsibilities.
During her 13 years working in London Jane has built up a solid base of clients based in and around London and the south east. She has extensive experience in the First Tier Tribunal and over the years has formed close working relationships with valuers, surveyors and barristers who will be able to assist should you need other professionals to work on your matter.
