The UK’s fastest growing property management company has been admitted to full membership of its respected trade body ARMA – the Association of Residential Managing Agents.
Principle Estate Management was founded in Birmingham by former ARMA chairman Brett Williams in Spring 2018 but was not then able to apply for Associate Membership of ARMA due to membership application restrictions.
After an invitation to apply for full membership late last year, followed by a detailed and thorough vetting process, Principle Estate Management has been accredited by ARMA.
The business has grown from just Brett Williams himself to 35 staff in two and a half years and now manages apartment blocks throughout England and Wales –a portfolio in excess of 6,500 units in around 250 developments across the UK.
Brett Williams said: “This is most encouraging recognition of the values and hard work we have put into what is now nearly three years since our launch in the Spring of 2018.
“I first became aware of ARMA in 1999 and was invited to join ARMA’s Technical Committee in 2000. That same year I was also RICS West Midlands Junior Organisation chairman.
“I subsequently became chairman of the Technical Committee which gave me a seat on the main ARMA council. Ultimately I was chairman of ARMA for three years to 2010.”
He is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Management.
Mr Williams added: “ARMA has changed so much over the last 20 years. It is only 30-years-old, which is young for a professional body. It was initially formed to help managing agents manage better and to provide technical advice on legal compliance and so on.
“From an organisation originally run by volunteers, it now has a fully staffed office.”
He said that during the past 30 years ARMA had carved out an enviable reputation as a lobbying group, in particular championing leaseholders’ rights and constantly in touch with government and the media on issues such as cladding and fire safety.
“The role of ARMA has never been more vital, and we are delighted to have achieved full membership with all the respect and kudos that brings Principle Estate Management,” he said.
