Is this block plastered in flags England’s biggest supporter?

It is estimated that there are more than 300 flags covering a block of flats in Bermondsey, south London.

Almost every flat balcony on the Kirby Estate is said to be emblazoned with a St George’s Cross. Excluding the bunting, there are 222 England flags.

It all started a few years ago when Geraldine Howard, local resident, erected an England flag which was soon followed by neighbours as more and more added to the sea of flags.

...

The move was said to be ‘embraced’ and welcomed with ‘good community spirit’ by all residents of the estate in an already ‘diverse community’. Some chose to display flags from their home nation alongside England’s in a show of combined support, which Ms Howard called ‘really, really nice’. Flags from other nations amidst the flutter of England flags included Colombia and Poland.

She further added that the flags will stay up as long as England is still playing in the World Cup.

England will face Croatia in the semi finals of the World Cup this evening at 19:00. Good luck England!
