OneDome hires big hitters to its Board in major push of its homebuying platform

OneDome, the challenger portal that aims to streamline the homebuying process and make homebuying significantly faster for all parties involved, has hired two new directors to its board.

Tim Brooke Thom, a former Chairman of Monzo, the challenger bank, has joined the Board as a Non-executive director. Tim brings a wealth of experience in start-ups and scale ups, as well as large financial institutions.

From 2015 to 2019, Tim was Chairman and a board director of Monzo Bank, one of the largest fintech companies in the world. During this period, Monzo realised phenomenal growth and scaled-up from a small start-up to one of the most prominent names in UK fintech, valued at over £4.5 billion. Prior to Monzo, Tim was a Non-Executive Director at Capita Plc, one of the largest IT companies in the UK.

Michael Yeates joined OneDome earlier this year. Michael is a former General Manager of Cheltenham & Gloucester Plc. He helped grow C&G from the 16th largest building society into one of the UK’s largest lenders, the most cost-efficient financial services company in Europe and the 27th most profitable organisation in the world across all industries (according to Gartner).

Michael is a hugely experienced retail banking specialist, undertaking over 40 Board level assignments for more than 30 UK banks and other organisations, including HSBC, RBS, Barclays, NatWest, Nationwide, Abbey, Alliance & Leicester, The John Lewis Partnership and Next plc. A change leader with a career track record of leading significant business transformation.

Tim and Michael have joined a board that is chaired by the legendary Sir Nigel Knowles, the driving force behind the transformation of a small legal practice in Leeds into one of the largest legal firms in the world - DLA Piper.

These appointments coincide with the launch of OneDome’s digital homebuying platform and its flagship Homebuyer service. This service brings together all the essentials that consumers need to purchase a home, into one simple, efficient, and cost-effective offering. OneDome has also begun rolling out its transaction management services to estate agency and housebuilder clients, offering a platform to manage property transactions with ease and generate additional income from home moving services.

Chairman of OneDome, Sir Nigel Knowles said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Tim and Michael to our board. They have extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, start-ups and scale ups and they will add huge value to the team, our clients and shareholders. OneDome is focused on changing the way consumers purchase properties for good, by fixing one of the most archaic and frustrating processes in our day-to-day lives and I am confident that with Tim and Michael onboard, the firm will go from strength to strength in achieving its goals’.
