Last year the Department of Business Innovation and Skills pledged to create 3 million apprenticeships by 2020. Many industries and sectors across the economy have seized the opportunity and become “Trailblazer” employers, offering young people an apprenticeship that is practical, relevant and paid.
To celebrate the launch of the unique Housing and Property Apprenticeships, key industry figures and the Prime Minister’s Apprentice Advisor, Nadhim Zahawi MP attended an event in Parliament on 23rd February. The event highlighted how the sector-specific programme will give future property and housing professionals the opportunity to develop and further their career in the industry.
Leading property management company, Rendall & Rittner co-sponsored the event, with the National Housing Federation, Affinity Sutton and the Institute of Residential Property Management. Rendall & Rittner, an Investors in People Gold accredited company, is one of the “Trailblazer” employers that has embraced the initiative, and championed the new Housing and Property Management Apprenticeships.
Led by the Aspire Group and working closely with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Skills Funding Agency, the new standards reflect learning from the Government’s Trailblazer programme and seek to develop a clear pathway from entry level to senior professional across the industry.
