In his new role, Gareth will lead and support the team, coordinating the day-to-day management of the office. He will be tasked with building on SDL Bigwood’s extensive portfolio of managed properties throughout the region, as well as ensuring clients and leaseholders receive market leading customer service.

Prior to his appointment, Gareth spent 11 years at HML Group in a senior role. During his time there, he successfully launched the company’s first satellite office in Aldershot, increasing the number of residential blocks under HML’s management and growing his team from three to 12 members. He also assisted with the management of branches in Bristol and Eastbourne.

Commenting on his appointment, Gareth said:

“Property has been my passion for the past three decades and I join SDL Bigwood at an exciting time.

“With the government’s evident drive for housing, our sector is set to flourish. Not only is there huge potential in terms of new builds, but there are also great opportunities to increase our service offering with those residential developments that we already manage. The market is looking positive and I’m delighted to join a team that is set to lead the way.”

Gareth also has experience of both the commercial property and social housing sectors, and is a member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers.

Brett Williams, executive partner at SDL Bigwood, added: “The property market is buoyant and, as our portfolio continues to grow across the country, we know that there’s huge potential in the South East.

“Gareth is well placed to lead operations in the region. His industry knowledge, combined with strong management ability and dedication to team development, means he not only has the ability to continue the great work we’re already doing, but will help to grow the business even further.

“Everyone at SDL Group is committed to a new service standard to ‘blow our customers’ socks off’. With people like Gareth on board, we’re well placed to achieve this.”

Across the UK, SDL Bigwood manages around 30,000 individual homes in developments ranging from small individual blocks to large estates, comprising many hundreds of homes.
