ELM Group announces new Chairman

ELM Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Jimmy Miller as the new Chair of the ELM Group Board. The appointment follows the retirement of John Denning after his nine years of service at the helm of the board.

Jimmy joins as Chair having spent nearly ten years on the board working alongside John and six other distinguished board members. During this time, he has consistently applied his passion for property and development and taken an innovative approach to delivering the company’s ethical vision and strategy.

Jimmy’s longstanding relationship with ELM Group dates back even further to 1993, when he, in his role as Commercial Relationship Manager for Coutts, was working with ELM Group in a client capacity. After building an esteemed 38-year banking career, Jimmy retired in 2012 but was reunited with ELM Group in 2014 when he was appointed to the board.

Alongside his obligations as a member of the board, and now as Chair, Jimmy was an established Treasurer of a youth football club for 27 years, as well as a captain of his local golf club. A keen volunteer, he continues to work as a driver for his local GP Surgery, taking patients to and from surgery and hospital appointments.

Jimmy Miller said: “I was delighted to have been asked to join the board in 2014 and subsequently elected to Chair at ELM Group. I have a long-lasting relationship with the Organisation so I can genuinely say that everyone associated with ELM should be proud of playing their part in the business and supporting our customers no matter the role undertaken. It is teamwork and dedication that is at the heart of ELM Group’s success now and will continue to be in the future.”

Lorraine Collis, Chief Executive at ELM Group, added: “We are thrilled to see Jimmy take up this opportunity with us at ELM Group. He has been such an asset to the Board over the years and a dedicated member of the team. We look forward to what we can achieve together in 2023 and beyond.”

ELM Group manages retirement communities across the South of England and has become one of the UK’s leading retirement leasehold management companies. The company originated in 1971 as Retirement Lease Housing Association (RLHA) a charitable organisation founded by a group of volunteers with a shared vision - to pioneer the development of sheltered housing for sale to people of retirement age. Sheltered housing for rent was already widely available, but the founders wanted to introduce the concept to those who valued owning their own property and saw the benefits of a purpose-built Estate, with onsite support from an Estate Manager.

Having built upon their enviable reputation in the independent retirement living sector, RLHA are proud to be one of the South of England’s leading leasehold property management companies.
