Principle promotes Rachael Hornby to director as London office continues to grow

Rachael Hornby has been promoted to director at Principle Estate Management just over a year after she joined the nationwide firm as associate director in July 2023.

She leads the London office of Principle Estate Management which was established when Principle acquired the business of Myhill Newman in April 2022.

Launched in 2018, Principle now has 70 staff looking after a portfolio of nearly 20,000 units at around 400 developments across the UK.

Brett Williams, founder and joint managing director of Principle, said: “Rachael has performed amazingly well since joining us in 2023, and is fully deserving of this promotion.

“London is a strategic growth area for us, and I am pleased to say our reputation continues to grow there, particularly in prime central London.”

The London office, with nine staff, manages over 2,000 properties on behalf of a mix of resident management companies, including right to manage companies and freeholder clients.

The majority of the prime properties managed by Principle are around Regents Park, Hyde Park, Mayfair, Marylebone, Kensington, Fitzrovia and Covent Garden.

Ms Hornby joined Principle Estate Management from D&G Block Management after seven years managing similar properties and before that had worked for Croydon Churches Housing Association for over six years.

She is a member of The Property Institute, an associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has recently been named on a shortlist of four for the prestigious London Property Manager category in the national Property Management Awards.

She said: “During the past 15 months, we have grown both the portfolio and staff numbers in our London office.

“We will continue to invest in our offices, systems and people as we continue to expand our client base across London and the south east.”
