The Association for Rental Living – the membership body for all institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors – has today launched its 2025-26 Manifesto. The document defines the path that the organisation will tread over the next two years, as it seeks to establish the Rental Living Sector as the UK’s trusted provider of high-quality, professionally managed rental homes.
This vision for the sector is already embodied in the Build to Rent Code of Practice and draft Customer Charter, both of which grew from the expertise of the Association for Rental Living’s members. Now, the Association for Rental Living is calling on the Rental Living Sector to unite in delivering Build to Rent (BTR) as a transformation housing solution that can deliver up to two million additional homes in the UK, unlocking and extraordinary £300 billion in long-term investment in the country’s economy.
Drawing on the strength of its unique committees and regional hubs, the Association for Rental Living will leverage and support these networks and the group of special advisors to harness the full breadth of our members’ expertise to develop policy, establish and share best practice.
Aligned to the newly established BTR Taskforce’s efforts to drive innovation and promote best practice, the Association for Rental Living Manifesto 2025-26 commits to championing a dynamic, innovative and inclusive Rental Living Sector. Its mission is to drive standards, foster community and create homes where people thrive. The Association for Rental Living will also build trust and promote the sector’s value to public and private stakeholders, serving as the trusted authority for rental living while empowering sector growth and supporting the delivery of high-quality homes.
“The Rental Living Sector stands at a pivotal moment. As government policy shifts toward pro-growth and pro-housing strategies, we have a powerful opportunity — and responsibility — to demonstrate the sector’s current and future value to society, government and business. Together, we’re shaping the future of rental living, empowering it to be stronger, smarter and better for all.”
Brendan Geraghty, CEO, Association for Rental Living
Over the course of 2025-26, the Association for Rental Living will expand and strengthen its membership and deliver clear value to its members, forging strategic partnerships and amplifying sector advocacy and engagement. It will also focus on setting Build to Rent standards and leading building safety transformation, while driving performance through benchmarking and unifying the sector behind a collective vision.
