Folk, the co-living brand on a mission to set a new standard for renting, has been acknowledged for its outstanding work at the new Co-Living Awards 2024.
Folk Co-Living was awarded Operator of the Year (Scale Up) while Folk at Florence Dock (Battersea) was recognised for its outstanding architect under the ‘Building & Architecture’ category.
Highlighting the brightest minds within the communal living industry, the Co-Living Awards recognises leading organisations based on sustainability, architecture, management and more. The annual ceremony took place in Amsterdam and received over 60 submissions across 18 categories.
Designed by Assael Architects, Folk at Florence Dock won in the ‘Building & Architecture’ category for its innovative development in Battersea. The building comprises 270 studios as well as communal facilities that foster a community-focused style of living and promote inclusivity and interaction.
Folk is on a mission to set a new, higher standard for renting by making it about building communities and being somewhere people are proud to call home. The co-living brand, with connection in mind, also tackles the loneliness epidemic hitting London. Folk properties connect people from all walks of life in diverse communities that are also designed with renters wants and needs in mind.
Taking note from extensive renter research and changing behaviour due to the pandemic, Folk set out to provide a new standard for renting that not only tackled a growing feeling of isolation and loneliness amongst renter in the capital but also the traditional pain-points tenants face within the London rental market including large deposits, poor work from home environments and little or no outdoor space.
Folk currently operates across three buildings in London; Sunday Mills (Earlsfield), The Palm House (Harrow) and Florence Dock (Battersea).
