ARMA has published a list of the 172 successful ARMA-Q accredited members and 52 associate members on its website.
ARMA-Q is the new self-regulatory regime for ARMA managing agents. It aims to raise standards and quality of service across the residential leasehold management sector – hence the Q for quality.
ARMA Chief Executive Michelle Banks said that she was extremely pleased at the success of the ARMA-Q accreditation process, with a high level of demand for accreditation from existing Members and increasing interest from a large number of new applicants.
ARMA is still processing 67 applications, which will be added to the list as accreditation is achieved. Those companies who have been unable to meet the criteria for full accreditation, or need more time to do so have been offered until the end of 2015 to do so.
Despite persistent lobbying by ARMA, and other organisations in the sector, the government have not yet supported statutory regulations. This means anyone can set up as a managing agent and start trading which has lead to inconsistencies in service levels across the industry. ARMA-Q has been created by ARMA to allow consumers to distinguish better managing agents, and generally improve consumer confidence when purchasing and using residential property management services.
ARMA’s new Guide to joining ARMA will be published at the end of April and all new members must be accredited.
