Consort Property Management, has launched a series of fire safety events at its Plough Lane development in Wimbledon.
Plough Lane residents will benefit from advice from the Home Safety team at Wimbledon Fire Station and 360 homes have already been visited since the service launched. The service, run in conjunction with Wimbledon Fire Station, Merton council and the Metropolitan Police, will see all 588 homes offered advice on topics such as kitchen safety and escape route tips as well as being given the opportunity to have new fire alarms fitted.
Mike Dowland, Head of Consort Property Management, said: “As property managers, security issues at all our developments are a priority for us, as, of course, is fire safety. We hope that this initiative will enable our residents to have full peace of mind that their fire alarms are checked and fully functioning and we urge all residents to make use of this free service.”
The Plough Lane development has 588 residential flats and 15 commercial units. Additional visits to the development by Wimbledon Fire Station are planned throughout the year.
Prior to being converted to a residential development in 2008, Plough Lane was a football stadium in Wimbledon and was the home ground of Wimbledon Football Club from 1912 to 1991 when the club moved to Selhurst Park.
