County Estate Management (CEM), the specialist residential managing agent, is on track to represent the UK in the European Business Awards for the Environment. CEM has just been notified that it is among the major winners in the Green Apple Environment Awards – one of the few accredited feeder schemes into the international campaign. The company has won the award in recognition of its environmental commitment and best practice for Green Vision, CEM’s environmental audit tool for residential estates.
Paul Rayden, CEO of the CEM Group of companies commented: “We are extremely proud and encouraged by news that Green Vision has received such an important endorsement and recognition. The Green Apple Award confirms that we have designed and implemented something special in our efforts to encourage green practices within the portfolio of properties under our management. The team is looking forward to attending the special ceremony to collect the award in November.”
Green Vision is a three-part structured environmental assessment that calculates the carbon footprint produced at residential blocks of flats and estates. Upon completion, the property is assigned an EcoRating on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the least environmentally friendly). At the end of the assessment, CEM makes recommendations for improving the carbon footprint at the property in order to progress towards an EcoRating of 1.
The Green Apple Awards are in their 14th year and attracted more than 500 nominations this year. They are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-political, non-activist and non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
